The college consists of nine departments, including the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding, the Department of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, the Department of Animal Reproduction and Special Economic Animals, the Department of Smart Farming, the Department of Basic Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology, and the Department of Public Health.
In the past five years (2018-2022), the college has undertaken 711 research projects, including 168 funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China, with newly approved funds of 543 million RMB for science and technology. 1 project has won National Science and Technology Invention Award, 17 have won provincial and ministerial prizes (including cooperation projects), 399 have been granted patents, and 9 new veterina drug certificates have been approved.
